The Shard is another popular attraction that families and kids should not miss when visiting London. At 310 meters high, this skyscraper is the tallest building in all of Western Europe and offers unparalleled views of the city from its 72nd-floor observation deck. There’s also a range of restaurants and bars inside if you want to stay for a while and take advantage of the incredible view.

This amazing british skyscraper was designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano and looks like an elongated, glass shard of ice. It’s located in the Southwark area of London, right next to some other great attractions, such as HMS Belfast (a retired naval ship that is now a museum), Tower Bridge and The Design Museum – all are within walking distance from here.

The Gherkin – 30 St Mary Axe

This 180-metre tall building has become one of the most recognizable constructions in London since it opened in 2003. It’s a striking, glass structure with an unusual style that looks somewhat like a pickle or gherkin (hence its nickname). Its architect was Norman Foster and there are no offices below floor 21 because of strict planning restrictions on views into nearby St Paul’s Cathedral.
